Emerging Talent Drop Lamond Is Not Only Breaking The Walls
Breaking The Walls EP by Drop Lamond
North London’s fast rising producer, Drop Lamond, has been infectiously crafting a vibrant blend of house and garage, cementing his place amongst the very best in a new wave of UK based producers taking cues from the likes of Disclosure and Shadow Child. Injected with irresistible doses of soul, Drop Lamond’s new EP ‘Breaking The Walls’, is released on Ministry of Sound’s HK Records, on the 25th November.
Drop Lamond has been attracting serious heat since arriving on the scene in 2012. Having already turned in stand-out remixes for the likes of Lana Del Rey and Ellie Goulding, boasting the credentials of a classically trained musician as well making up one-third of the Rinse signed collective Billion, it’s no surprise that ‘Breaking The Walls’ is an accomplished debut release.
From the off, Drop Lamond’s sound is all-encompassing. First track ‘Feeling High’ featuring the vocals of Ruby Wood, is the perfect bench-mark to the EP as sundrenched electronics are joined by deep and melodic basslines leaving you refreshed by Drop Lamond’s effortless productions. Title track, ‘Breaking The Walls’ will undoubtedly have dancefloors shaking from the underground to the mainstream while ‘We’re Through’ demonstrates Drop Lamond’s stellar song writing abilities, turning up the heat and delivering a future club classic. Rather than just a solid EP, ‘Breaking the Walls’ consists of four tracks bursting with quality, exploring the finer elements of garage and house and putting a unique Drop Lamond twist on them all.
“Sauve, sophisticated and an incredibly charming yet funky House release. With work like this, you can be sure that his work will break into the commercial charts as well as the classy realms of clubland. You can’t help but to be wanting more. Just like wanting the track ‘We’re Through‘ on SoundCloud! That particular track is yet to be made public on there but instead, it is here – check it out” – thetruejoe90
