From drum & bass to jazz, rock to hip hop, Miss Trouble over 15 years has performed with some of the world’s greatest musicians ranging from the legendary DJ Fresh to Jazz innovator, Erik Truffaz.
From early residencies in 2003 at Middlesex University and DJ SS’s Formation Records’ events, Miss T created her foundation training ground, playing at rammed out drum and bass parties around the North of England alongside some of the biggest names in the business. It was at this time that she had her first ever record released with DJ Clipz on Full Cycle.
Miss Trouble’s passion for dance music has always been rooted in hip hop, and like any true lyricist Miss Trouble joined London based emcee crew Double Negative to help her conquer the artforms of wordplay, freestyle and the ‘tag team’ experience. Consisting of two male emcees and a DJ, Dub Neg played regularly on London’s leading pirate radio stations and were residents at events run by THTC and Peace Not War to name just a few.
In 2005 Miss Trouble’s vocal talents were picked up and signed by renowned dance label Funkatech Records where she found her home to this day, releasing top selling records with Specimen A, PYRAMID, Dj Mutiny, The Breakfastaz, The Rogue Element and many more. Her tracks have been featured on compilations by the likes of Ministry Of Sound & Hed Kandi.
Performing regularly on various pirate radio stations and gaining a name for herself in the dnb scene, Miss Trouble became a resident emcee for Essence Of Chi, Uncertified and Rotation events and has since worked all over the globe at raves including Moondance, Innovation In The Sun and World Of Drum & Bass. In June 2006 she appeared live on BBC 1Xtra as part of L Double’s MC Sessions with a feature about hot female DnB talent alongside Ayah Marar and Lady Mc.
Soon after, Miss T joined the line-up on legendary London pirate station Kool FM with a Friday evening show with DJ Turbulence, followed by her debut appearance on DnB Arena TV featuring on a 4hr Set with S.P.Y & Subterra. Miss Trouble started to get noticed outside of the UK market and was invited to play across Europe, growing a firm fanbase in France.
In late 2008 Miss Trouble teamed up with the French Queen of Drum & Bass, Elisa Do Brasil. They created a dynamic DJ & MC combo, releasing and touring two albums and have for five years been rocking crowds all over France from Paris to Cannes, converting listeners into hardcore drum n bass fans with their sensual attitude and Anglo-French touch.
In 2013 Miss Trouble joined Matrix & Futurebound’s camp and secured an emcee residency at their Viper Recordings club nights. After already having released “Infatuation” on their Summer Slammers 2010 compilation, Miss T is due for a single release this year with highly acclaimed producer Inside Info. Entitled “Metamorphosis”, already with early support from DJ Optical and Smooth, it looks set to be a hit.
In the past few months Miss Trouble released a raw series of YouTube clips entitled the Miseducation series. These have been getting a lot of interest and show a more personal side as well as show off her lyrical skills in other genres within her repertoire. This series is all leading up to the grand launch of her solo project entitled “Back To The Future” (a homage to Miss Trouble’s past musical influences) with beats provided by Nari Man: one of the hottest producers in the urban/pop circuit right now. This project will showcase Miss Trouble’s versatility and true artistry on one complete package for the very first time. Due for release 2014.
