Never Wood / Police In The Green by Decoder INC [Glitch Electro Dubstep]
Without meaning to make this site an Elektroshok Records site, they are relentlessly churning out grooves recently and they show no sign whatsoever in holding up or stopping.
One of the most recent bassline punishments is brought to us by Spanish producer Decoder INC but because of his musical direction, he gets moved into Elektroshok’s Rough Division,
and you’ll soon hear why.
When the tune first rolls there is an adorable funky bassline being delightfully plucked with jazzy guitar licks, bluesy piano trickles and the occasional sax riff. It’s 70’s funk, but then a couple of bars later, it changes like you’ve never known. The funk stays exactly where it should do but we’ve move a few decades forward, switch into EDM and technology takes over. Funky, glitch hop with soul and even grace. This has swagger, energy and sounds immensely infectious. This’ll take the roof off from any venue and if you’re wearing headphones, it’ll take your head but with great pleasure you will let it. ‘Never Wood’ flows like liquid despite the fact that it is choppy and full of random stutters but they are so superbly timed and effectively produced, they sound altogether brilliant. DecoderINC, what a tune!
The second track ‘Police In The Green’ begins a little more in the fashion that you would perhaps expect. Electro chords along with a few grimey tweaks and bleeps but once again, we are left with eyes wide open due to the ridiculously filthy bass tones that jackhammer their way into the groove of the record. A few gritty mids enter in on the break but then the drop returns and the face you have ends up being distorted and twisted as if you’ve been suddenly inflicted with great pain. once more, what a tune!
A boat load of hardcore tech-funk, chopped up and served with style, grace and bass. Awesome work.
‘Never Wood / Police In The Green’ by Decoder INC is released by the Rough Division of Elektroshok Records. Out now everywhere
