Breaks Legends Aquasky Return With ‘Pixilate’ Remix For 601
Pixilate by 601 with Aquasky Remix
601 are definitely a bass-force to be reckoned with and this forthcoming package out from Aquasky‘s Passenger Records is a display of that sub-frequency power. Even Aquasky themselves have had a dabble remixing the original so we have a double A banger of a release being unleashed next week.
Nat Slater & George Miller are 601, and they do bass. As you can see and hear. It’s a monster!
With a tried and tested hype pedigree on respected imprints such as Noodles, Westway, Polar Red and Sub Slayers, 601 have enjoyed critical acclaim from some of the biggest players in the game; Toddla T to Diplo, Bar 9 to Rico Tubbs, anyone who’s had the good sense to include a 601 shock-out in their sets will testify to the Harrogate duo’s strong-arm sonic skills.
‘Pixilate’ opens with heaving washes of heavenly old skool synths. Crisp and icy, it’s galvanised with 20 years of spine-tingling, sense-sapping rush memories. Don’t get too caught up in a rave reverie, though; just as you think you’ve caught your breath, the slamming breakbeats and mischievous precision pinched bassline barge into the mix, causing instant chaos. Slamming and slapping your floor into oblivion, it’s a reminder of just how spellbinding breakbeat can be when it’s conjured by the right men.
Pixilate by 601 The Aquasky Remix
And a killer single it is. We are talking 140bpm, bass-laden jungle breaks that usually brings chaos, mayhem and a ton of fun. This does too with the remix having a slightly further echo on the bassline on the intro which soon grows into a moody, knuckle-bleeding naughty tune that will be in many an underground club across London town for the next few weeks.
Pixilate by 601 is released by Passenger Records on October 14th, 2013
